How does it work?
You gather up your friends for a fun filled time cooking in black cast iron pots the old fashioned way similar to colonial times and the pioneers. Campfire Times will provide all the Dutch ovens, equipment, food and know-how to prepare a full meal the Chuck Wagon way using charcoal briquettes. You and your friends will prepare and cook the meal using charcoal briquettes in cast iron pots called “Dutch ovens”. We like to call these kind of cookouts a “DOG” which is short for a “Dutch Oven Gathering” No experience is necessary as Campfire Times will show you everything you need to know for your next backyard cookout.

We are always being asked “How hard is it to prepare a meal and cook it using charcoal briquettes or over an open fire”? It is easier than you may think. With a small amount of planning and timing, a great bountiful dinner can be made. Impress your friend and dinner guest while enjoying the great outdoors.
Here is a chance to give it a try for a small fee. No food to buy, no equipment to buy. You get full instructional supervision and a complete meal; it cannot get much better than that.
The same recipes you use at home can be adapted to a Dutch oven will ease. Yes, you can prepare your favorite recipes in a Dutch oven or cook over an open campfire like the cowboys did many years ago; with a little practice and the basic know-how anything is possible.
